The discussion in this blog is about where the Library Science is as of now and where it is heading, the innovation in Library Science with the Emerging Technology.
The article "Are You Dreaming?" written by Michael Stephens, talks about technology (of the Library Science), innovation, creatively thinking and looking at our services in a new way. Biside it's informative, it is also very enlightning, exciting, and encouraging.
Technology such as "Library Thing" as mention in the Library Thing for libraries: Randolph county, Bowdoin and Clarement college. - It's extremely gratifying to watch how quickly LibraryThing's data keeps growing. LibraryThing for Libraries was originally envisioned as a product for public libraries, but LibraryThing's continued growth is making that distinction seem less relevant. We're now up to three academic libraries, with several more in the pipeline, and we've even started working with a couple of corporate/special libraries.
Other technologies that are used for library.
With the growing pace of the technology as an article on the Top Technology Trends meeting at ALA Annual 2007 "Top Technology Trends for 2007 or We're toast if we don't grasp the full potential". Stated that the trends are less about the technology and more about the outcome. We just need to grasp the potential of the new technology and use it to its best advantage.
